Research
The Center for World Affairs and the Global Economy supports interdisciplinary research that explores the challenges and consequences of economic globalization and its governance. Through 2008 four collaborative projects led by faculty of the University of Wisconsin-Madison will anchor WAGE's activities. Current Account Sustainablity Analyzes the ability of the major economies of the world (“the G-5”) to sustain large current account deficits over prolonged periods. Governing Global InsecuritiesFocuses on the new insecurities the process of globalization has created for states and societies, with special emphasis on the globalization of violence and ecological risk. New GovernanceInvestigates new governance approaches arising out of efforts to promote international economic integration while preserving and updating distinctive national systems of social and environmental protection. Technology Entrepreneurship & InstitutionsExplores how organizational contexts influence technology entrepreneurship and how the latter influences the creation of markets and institutions that support innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic development. We invite you to learn more about these and other WAGE-supported research programs and resources. Should you like more information about our research efforts, please feel free to contact WAGE at wage@intl-institute.wisc.edu or to interact directly with the relevant faculty researchers.
